Korean American Day:

Journey to a fantasy island called "Leodo" through an irresistibly kinetic and divine performance of one of Korea's premier traditional and dance troupes MARO from the Jeju Islands of South Korea!
MARO is an innovative traditional Korean performance group based in Jeju Island of South Korea that is dedicated to fostering national artistic traditions and local folk culture through passionate movements, dynamic drumming, and soulful singing, interwoven with elements of mythology. Their stunning production Leodo: The Paradise, a celebration of a 5000-year-old Korean myth, will enchant audience of all ages and nationalities.
This event is presented by Washington State Korean-American Day Foundation as part of the 11th Annual Washington State Korean-American Day Celebration and all KAC-WA members are invited!
The Washington State Korean-American Day Foundation was established in 2007 when "The Korean Day Bill" (5166) was signed by Governor Chris Gregoire to recognizes the achievements made by Washington's Korean-Americans.

Ahn Jun is a South Korean artist working in photography, known especially for her self-portraits taken at the top of tall buildings that speak to the strength, ambition, and fragility of women in the 21st century. In this talk, Fujitani offers a challenging reinterpretation of racism and its transformations on both sides of the Pacific.

Asia Talks: The Social Life of Inkstones
Historian Dorothy Ko talks about her new book that explores the hidden history and cultural significance of the inkstone. A polished stone used for grinding ink, inkstones are prized possessions and gifts. Her history puts the stonecutters and artisans at center stage.
