University of Washington Student Mentorship Event

KAC-WA Mentoring at the UW

On February 22nd, the KAC in collaboration with KSA, KSU, NEXUS, and KUBUR hosted its own UW Mentorship event at the Hub Lyceum on the UW Seattle campus.

KAC-WA Mentoring at the UW

With over 100 students and mentees in attendance and mentors from various fields such as nursing, medicine, engineering, business, technology, law, therapy, and social work, the event was a big success! Our original goal was to bring out 20 mentors to come out and interact with students but towards the end of the outreach, we ended up delivering 32 mentors, all enthusiastic to impact the younger generation. With the guidance and feedback from experienced professionals out on the field, we are convicted that students will be greatly impacted with with the greater perspective and clarity that they will need to be successful out in the job market.

The KAC would like to thank all professional mentors who decided to come out from organizations such as Boeing, Comcast, Amazon, Synopsys, Microsoft, Smartsheet, Morgan Stanley, GiftStarter, Ai Systems, Coldwell Bank, Jetpack WorkFlow, The Red Scarf Project, ES Berry Law & Thomas Lee Law Firm, NW Relationships, Horizon, Woodridge, Columbia Elementary Schools, Washington Initiative for Diversity, UW, Keiro NW Rehabilitation & Care Center and Seattle Fire Department.Special thank YOU to our partnering organizations KABA (Korean-American Bar Association), KAHPA (Korean-American Health Professionals Association), Changbal (Korean IT Experts Society in Seattle Area) and PuPPy, Seattle's Python User Group for supplying us with top-notch experts in their fields who were also willing to share our vision for mentoring young people. We hope you will stay engaged in our future events as well!
