about us

Welcome to the Washington chapter of the Korean American Coalition!

KAC-WA is a non-profit, non-partisan community organization, whose mission is to strengthen and empower the Korean American community, and to enhance its profile and influence through civic education, community advocacy, leadership development, and professional networking.

Started in early 2002 by Korean American leaders who recognized the need for Korean American civic participation and representation under the name Korean American Voters Alliance (KAVA), volunteers set up massive voter registration drives and launched civic education programs.

In January 2008, Korean American Professionals Society (KAPS) of Seattle merged with KAC-WA to combine the resources and purposes of the two organizations, and to further strengthen the Korean American community.

We are part of a national 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, with sister chapters in Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas/Ft. Worth, Denver, Los Angeles, Oregon, and Washington, D.C.
